Standings:
Team Name W L T Pts Comment
Toronto Maple Leafs 13 7 4 30 Rejuvenated Stevie Thomas, the "Excellent Englishman", has 12 goals, 12 assists, for 24 points, and is a +9 in 24 games. He also has 4 PP goals and 4 GW goals.
Buffalo Sabres 12 8 6 30 Miroslav Satan, the "Slovakian Sniper", has 15 goals on the season. Of those 15, 5 are PP goals, 1 is a GT goal, and 4 are GW goals.
Boston Bruins 11 11 3 25 Whassup brother! Anson Carter has 13 goals, 15 assists , and leads the team with 28 points in 25 games.
Ottawa Senators 6 12 6 18 "Tugger" (3-11-3, 3.53 GAA, 87.9 S%) continues to suck it up. Youngster Marian Hossa leads team with 9 goals.
Montreal Canadiens 5 12 3 13 You know it's bad when Benoit Brunet leads your team with 16 points in 20 games.
Pittsburgh Penguins(Mateo) 21 0 1 43 Talk about a monster year. Jaromir Jagr has 48 goals, 44 assists, 92 points, with 10 PP goals and 7 GW goals. He is currently on pace for 342 points.
Philadelphia Flyers 16 8 2 34 The Johns, John "Beezer" Vanbiesbrouck (13-4-2, 2.09 GAA, 92.6 S%) and John LeClair (10 G 17A 27P, +12, 5 PPG) dominate as the Flyers are the second best team in the East.
New York Rangers 15 6 2 32 Stellar goaltending tandem of Richter (10-5-2, 2.21 GAA, 92.6 S%) and McLean (5-1-0, 2.30 GAA, 92.2 S%) have this team playoff bound.
New Jersey Devils 10 7 2 22 This is a great team in the toughest divison in the league. Backup tender Terreri (4-0-0, 1.23 GAA, 95.5 S%, 1 SO) is on fire. Rookie Scott "Mystery Alaska" Gomez leads team with 18 points.
New York Islanders 7 12 1 15 Let the rebuilding begin! Mariusz "The Polish Playmaker" Czerkawski leads the team with 14 points. Luongo (4-5-1, 2.16 GAA, 92.7 S%, 2 SO) has continued to impress.
Washington Capitals 12 9 1 25 Young Jan Bulis has 13 goals, and Kolzig(7-8-1, 2.98 GAA, 90.0 S%, 2 SO) has been solid.
Tampa Bay Lightning 9 10 4 22 Chris Gratton has 75 PIM in 23 games to go with his 13 points. Dan Cloutier (6-6-3, 3.03, 89.7 S%) has 3 shutouts on the year.
Carolina Hurricanes 8 15 1 17 Rod Brind'Amour (4 G, 6 A, 10 P, 16 PIM) in 21 games hasn't done much for the 'Canes. That Philadelphia trade isn't lookin' so hot now.
Atlanta Thrashers 7 11 3 17 No problem in net, three goalies combine for stats of: 1.38 GAA, 95.01 S%, 0.7 SO. Team offense is sparce, but balanced, with four players leading in scoring with 11 points apiece.
Florida Panthers 6 14 3 15 The Panthers have gone from bad to worse. The defensemen on this team combine for a -36 rating. Offense, and Bure, is struggling.
St. Louis Blues 13 8 2 28 Possibly the most balance team in the league. 11 players with double-digits in points, and both goalies, Turek and McLennan, have been superb.
Chicago Blackhawks 10 4 5 25 This team is for real! Has a 1-1-3 record vs. human players. Young defensmen Boris Mironov(4G 11A 15P, 53 PIM, +17) has been instrumental.
Detroit Red Wings 6 14 2 14 Scotty Bowman would be pulling his hair out, but he hasn't gotten any. Only two player are + players. Huge problems in Hockeytown.
Nashville Predators 4 12 5 13 Goalies have been horrible, all three less than 90.0 S%. Mighty Mite Cliff Ronning(20 points in 21 games) leads this young and inexperienced team.
Vancouver Canucks 14 7 2 30 The Canucks have 14 wins for one reason, "The Cat" is still rippin' it up. Felix Potvin (12-5-1, 2.13 GAA, 92.5 S%, 1 SO) is playing like a brick wall. Little Stevie Kariya leads the team with 18 points in 23 games.
Colorado Avalanche 12 6 3 27 Joe Sakic (25 points in 21 games) leads the team with assistence from Milan Hejduk (24 points in 21 games). Patrick Roy has been spending quality time with his posts and has bounced back from an atrocious start.
Calgary Flames 9 10 2 20 This team has been average at best. No one player really stands out as being a leader. This team needs to find a way to get Fred Brathwaite(1-0-0, 1.80 GAA, 93.1 S %) more playing time.
Edmonton Oilers 4 13 3 11 This seasons first to worst winner. 1-12-2 last 15 games. This team is in last for one reason, Bill Ranford (3-11-1, 3.91 GAA, 86.1 S%). Until this team learns to play Tommy Salo (1-2-2, 2.72 GAA, 91.2 S%), it'll be a long season.
Anaheim Mighty Ducks(Big C) 14 6 1 29 The feel good story of the year. The Ducks have gone 14-2-1 since their 0-4-0 start. Paul "Kariya!" has 37 goals, 10 assists, for 47 points, and is a +30 in 21 games.
Los Angeles Kings(BP) 11 7 2 24 Reality sets in for the Kings. The Kings have gone 3-7-2 since starting the season 8-0-0. Fans don't know what Kings team will show up each night, but they do know Ziggy Palffy(34G 10A 44P +19) will impress.
San Jose Sharks 8 11 6 22 It's actually amazing the Sharks are not in last, for they're second in the league in goals allowed with 83. 20 year old Partck Marleau (10G 14A 24P +3) is the only bright spot.
Phoenix Coyotes 9 7 3 21 It's J.R.'s country out here. Roenick has 19 points in as many games. But goaltending has to get better if this team want to make the playoffs.
Dallas Stars 9 10 2 20 From heroes to zeroes. This team has reached the cellar. Modano (7G 3A 10P) is playing mediocre hockey and Belfour (8-8-1, 2.51 GAA, 91.9 S%, 3 SO) isn't gettin' much help.
